We only use Veg Tanned Leather, or will be upcycling Chrome Tanned Leather.
Most leather is Chrome Tanned Leather, it is quicker to make and easier to make things with. Your leather couch, your genuine leather hand bag? Most likely it is made from Chrome tan leather.
BUT…
The problem is when these items or scraps from this leather are thrown out, chromium XI will leach into our environment.
Have you seen Erin Brokovich, starring Julia Roberts? That was about this toxin getting into the water supply.
We are committed to only using Vegetable Tanned leather (made without toxic chemicals) and upcycling scrap chrome tanned leather. Veg Tan Leather will biodegrade, whereas Chrome Tan Leather and Vegan Leather will not.
